This is the Christmas weather in the United States

A rare white Christmas in some parts of the west

In parts of California, snowfall eventually hit the mountains and white Christmas was seen throughout the state.

Up to 20 inches of snow was reported at Homewood Mountain near Lake Tahoe.

A 70-mile section of the interstate highway at the top of the Sierra Nevada Mountains was closed on Saturday due to a winter storm.

Over 6 million people across the western United States have been warned of a winter storm and have reached the mountains south of San Bernardino and Riverside County.

This is because Arctic air is being pushed into the Pacific Northwest, causing winter storm warnings to reach near the coast.

The system also created a rare white Christmas in Seattle and Portland. In Seattle, in a 127-year record, only nine measurable snows were seen on Christmas Day.

More Christmas snowfall

According to the National Meteorological Service, white Christmas was also seen in most of the northeast, with snowfall reported in Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and parts of northern New York.

In some parts of the region, winter weather recommendations were implemented, primarily due to icy rain.

Other states where White Christmas has been reported include Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Aidaho, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico, according to the NWS.

Heatmiser visits south and southeast

In many parts of the south and southeast, Christmas days do not feel like winter.

From Christmas to Wednesday, from Texas to the southeastern United States, more than 200 records can be broken as warm air pushes into the region, creating spring and summer-like temperatures. Specifically, the expected maximum temperature for Christmas in Dallas is 83 degrees Celsius, just 6 degrees below the July 4 high temperature. The expected maximum temperature in Houston is 81 degrees Celsius, 9 degrees below the July 4th maximum temperature.

Wichita Falls, Texas recorded 91 on Friday, warmer than the July 4 high of 88, and Oklahoma’s Grandfield reached 89, also above the July 4 high of 88. I am.

Issued Level 2 of Three Serious Fire Dangers. It will raise concerns about wildfire. Warm weather trends continue until Wednesday, with temperatures falling slightly, but highs above average throughout the week.
