Hopes were high that Nigerians will soon be freely allowed to tweet again when President Muhammadu Buhari disclosed in his October 1 Independence Day broadcast that he has directed the lifting of the suspension his administration slammed on the operation of Twitter in Nigeria. He however made it clear that the lifting of the suspension is contingent on the micro-blogging platform committing to National Security and Cohesion; Registration, Physical presence and Representation; Fair Taxation; Dispute Resolution; and Local Content. Aside from these conditions, he also stated that the suspension will be lifted when Twitter INC “allow our citizens continue the use of the platform for business and positive engagements”.

Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have abducted some students of Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, from their campus.

It was gathered that the abducted students were whisked away by the gunmen at the university community in Maraba.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relation Officer of the institution, Abubakar Ibrahim, disclosed that four students were abducted.

The Islamic State in West Africa Province, ISWAP, on Friday released a video of its fighters invading Tukur Yusufu Buratai Institute for War and Peace (TBI).

TBI is a research Institute of the Nigerian Army University, located in Buratai Village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

The former Chief of Army Staff and current Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Tukur Buratai, is from the affected town.

The reason behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to appoint Margery Okadigbo as the Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has emerged.

Naija News reports that President Buhari had dropped Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as the NNPC board chairman and replaced him with the wife of the late ex-Senate President, Chuba Okadigbo.

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has donated N50 million to Zamfara communities recently attacked by terrorists.

Tinubu, who declared his presidential ambition on Monday, made the donation to the state governor, Bello Matawalle during a visit to Gusau, the state capital, on Thursday.

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly abducted an unspecified number of mobile policemen at the police mobile training school in Limankara Gwoza LGA of Borno State.

Naija News reports that Limankara is the hometown of Senator Ali Ndume, the Chairman Senate Committee on Army.

Boko Haram terrorists attacked the training school around 8:22 on Thursday the 13 of January in the night with gun trucks and shot sporadically into the air before kidnapping the mobile Police instructors, The PUNCH reports.
