Rihanna has put her Hollywood Hills mansion on the market again for $7.8 million after previously renting it out for a staggering $35,000 a month.
The Umbrella hitmaker first bought the three-storey luxury property, which also features a detached guest house in the extensive grounds, in 2017, and first put it up for sale just a year later.
When it didn’t sell, Rihanna decided to rent it out in 2019, with potential tenants forking out $35,000 a month to live in the six bedroom, eight bathroom home.
The singer, who also has another four homes in Los Angeles, decided to rent out her Hollywood Hills house due to spending extended periods of time in London with then-boyfriend Hassan Jameel in London.
The neo-Mediterranean compound, which is located in the foothills above Hollywood Boulevard, is tastefully decorated in neutral colours, with expensive chandeliers and floor to ceiling windows being the focal points of some of the property’s living areas.
The living room features a piano, as well as a gorgeous fireplace, and the house also boats a billiards room, a cinema, and a pool and spa, which are located at the guest house situated opposite the swimming pool.
However, the house comes with a chequered past, as it has been broken into twice since the popstar and fashion designer purchased it.
In 2018, an intruder breached the mansion’s walls and spend the night inside the house, before he was discovered and arrested by police.
Luckily, Rihanna wasn’t home at the time of the break-in, but just a few months after the incident, there was a second attempt to gain access to her home.
The Fenty founder was forced to pack her bags and leave her Hollywood Hills home, and has been residing at her $5.5 million apartment in Century City near Santa Monica Boulevard.
The stunning property includes details such as steel-framed windows, arched doorways, and stone and wood floors.
James Harris and David Parnes, from the hit Bravo TV show Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, have been tasked with selling the property.
Rihanna has an extensive property portfolio, and also owns a 1930s mansion in the Coldwater Canyon area of Beverly Hills, which cost her more than $13 million, and earlier this year, she dropped $10 million on the neighboring property.
She also reportedly owns a swish apartment in the exclusive One Sandy Lane resort in Barbados, which cost her over $21 million.
