Olivia Rodrigo & Sabrina Carpenter Talked at Met Gala 2022: See the Pic

As a result of the love triangle narrative that had been spun, Bassett and Carpenter faced fierce scrutiny all throughout January 2021, and even beyond. Around the same time of the songs’ releases, he experienced intense public hate and was hospitalized for heart failure, which his doctors believe could have been provoked by stress.
Both women have separately addressed their rumored rivalry. Carpenter released a statement on Instagram following the release of “Skin” that affirms she “wasn’t bothered by a few lines in a (magnificent) song and wrote a diss track about it.”
Rodrigo has publicly spoken about the drama multiple times, claiming that the song’s specific subject matter is the “least important part” of the record, and directly addressing the “feud” between the two young women in August 2021. “I don’t really subscribe to hating other women because of boys,” Rodrigo said in an interview. “I think that’s so stupid, and I really resent that narrative that was being tossed around.”
Within the past year and a half, all three stars have released new music, started new projects, and seemingly moved past the incident. This photographed convo from the 2022 Met Gala marks the first time the two have been seen interacting publicly since the infamous love triangle rumors began.
It’s important to note that Carpenter totally manifested this. “I just hope that one day / We both can laugh about it / When it’s not in our face / Won’t have to dance around it,” she sings in “Skin.”
While we may never know what the two stars talked about at the gala, it seems like it all might be water under the bridge.
