In Coachella, there is a basic interactive element that all attendees should do at some point during their weekend.

For the third year in a row, the ever-colorful and popular art installation “Spectra” made an appearance on Coachella so that festival goers could see the event from new angles and perspectives.

Before the festival’s two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, the seven-story tower made its debut in 2018, courtesy of the British firm NEWSUBSTANCE. The interactive artwork allows attendees to climb a spiral ramp to the tower in weather-controlled conditions.

The tower windows cover all the colors of the rainbow, which were chosen because they played well with the sunrise and sunset over the Coachella Valley.

While in past years only a “Small fraction” of the festival attendees were able to enter the exhibition, the entrance to the exhibition was not too complicated for Sunday afternoon. The whole process from the start of the line to the ascent and descent of the tower only took about 15 minutes, with many photos taken in the process.

But in the heat of Sunday afternoon, many festival-goers chose to relax in the shade of the tower.

Along the line, security maintained a steady but calculated flow of guests entering and leaving the exhibit, reducing their internal congestion.

The air conditioning went into the pockets inside the tower, and the temperatures were almost cooler the higher it went up.
