Love Island’s Amber Davies admits she wishes she had therapy after winning the show

Amber Davies has candidly admitted that she wishes she attended therapy sessions after her stint on Love Island

The 24-year-old beauty won the dating contest in 2017 alongside then-partner Kem Cetinay.

And she now admits that the country going into lockdown made her realise she should have went to therapy when she left the villa.

Speaking to Roxie Nafousi on The Moments That Made Me podcast, Amber said: “I’ve experienced so much and yet in lockdown I was the saddest I’ve ever been in my life.

“I think that was because I was processing everything, I was processing absolutely everything that had happened.

“All I wished that I’d done differently was that I had therapy as soon as I came out or six months after I came out.

“I think I would have handled things so differently,” she explained.

She admitted that she did have therapy after taking “a bit of a weird turn” during lockdown and that’s when she started to open up about the transition in her life.

“That’s all you need, you just need to talk about it,” she confessed.

“I’ve been 100 miles an hour for the last four years so when it all came to this silence I was like, I don’t know who I am, I need to be working.”

She continued to say that the lockdowns were tough and things got tougher the longer the restrictions went on.

However, she says that she can now finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Earlier in the summer, Amber admitted that she had no regrets about appearing on the hit ITV2 show, saying it taught her to become more private.

“Some of the life experiences I’ve had from Love Island, I’ll be forever grateful for,” she said.

Since the show, the North Wales-native has found success in many forms, including playing the role of Judy Bernly in the West End version of 9 To 5 in 2019.

She admits that she still can’t get over meeting her idol, Dolly Parton, who she worked with during the production of the musical and their subsequent ITV documentary Amber & Dolly: 9 To 5.
