Kylie Minogue is moving back to Australia after 30 years living in the UK.
The 53-year-old singer has decided to return to her home country to be closer to her family after spending time Down Under during lockdown.
A source close to Kylie said: “This is something she has been thinking about for a while.
“This year, when she was in Australia for an extended period due to travel restrictions, it gave her time to think about where she wants to be based.
“Like many artists she spends much of her life on the road or travelling so she doesn’t anticipate that this is a major change for her as she’s never in one place for a long time anyway.
“Covid has given her a lot of time to think about the future and she wants to see more of her family in the times when she isn’t travelling, and so she will use Australia as her base.”
In newly-filed documents, the star has changed the service address for her four main businesses to an address in Haw-thorn, a suburb of Melbourne.
Her place of residence as director on the business documents has also been changed from England to Australia. A source close to Kylie said: “She’s changed her company details to reflect that she is moving.”
As well as her parents Carol and Ron, Kylie’s brother Brendan and sister Dannii also live in Australia, along with her nephew Ethan.
The decision to move marks a change that looked unlikely last year. Speaking in a September 2020 interview she felt her boyfriend Paul Solomons would not like to move.
She told Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast: “Paul’s a Welshman. But he’s been in London for almost 20 years. There’s just not going to be an Australian home. I have a British passport and an Australian passport. I think some people forget I’m Australian.”
But according to more recent reports, Paul, 46, left his job in London last month which should allow him to spend more time with Kylie in Australia and make the move there feasible.
The couple are in the UK together at the moment as Kylie prepares to put out some new music and also make plans for her permanent move home.
The source added: “This won’t really change anything in Kylie’s life, apart from where she has chosen to call her home. Her love for London and the UK remains undiminished and she will still be here a lot.”

Kylie, who shot to fame on Neighbours, was previously engaged to Australian star Joshua Sasse. They split in 2017.
The singer previously dated French actor Olivier Martinez, INXS singer Michael Hutchence and model Andres Velencoso.
Paul and Kylie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, were reportedly introduced in February 2018 through mutual friends.
