Ekiti Shuts Varsity Over Protest, Bans All Unions

The Governing Council of Ekiti State University, din Ekiti has declared associate degree indefinite closure of the establishment.

This was disclosed in a very statement issued on weekday by EKSU’s exponent, predict Olofinmuagun, adding that the council prohibited the educational and Non-Academic employees Unions furthermore as Senior employees Association and National Association of educational Technologists within the university.

The action followed the recent protest by Unions within the University, World Health Organization are occupying the field for days, disrupting all activities and demand their unpaid salaries and different entitlements square measure met.

He declined any comment till Monday once the national body of the unions should have taken a foothold.

Reacting, the Special consultant to Ekiti regime on Tertiary Education, Sikiru Eniola, explained that the unions walked out of a gathering with the EKSU governing Council wherever the bones of competition were being mentioned.

“Unfortunately they’d a gathering yesterday wherever they were speculated to discuss the problems however the unions walked out on council and management. The regime are awaiting reports from the council and different stakeholders and can step in to make sure the crisis is resolved as shortly as doable,” Eniola aforementioned.
