Courtney Cox ‘planning wedding’ to Johnny McDaid with daughter Coco as bridesmaid

Friends star Courtney Cox

is planning to marry her Snow Patrol musician boyfriend Johnny McDaid in a private ceremony, with her daughter Coco as bridesmaid, sources have revealed.

The couple were separated for nine months during the covid pandemic after the UK was closed to travellers, but after being reunited it’s alleged the pair are wanting to get married in Johnny’s home town of Derry in Northern Ireland this Christmas.

They also claimed Courtney has asked her daughter Coco, 17, from her first marriage to actor David Arquette, and her Friends co-star Jennifer Anniston to be joint maid of honour.

A source told Closer magazine : “Courtney and Johnny’s stint apart was a huge wake-up call. and they agreed to marry as soon as the Covid restrictions eased so they could celebrate with all their loved ones.”

“They’re planning an intimate winter wedding in Johnny’s hometown of Derry, Northern Ireland in December at a local church, followed by a big party at a romantic castle nearby set in 1.000 acres of private land.

“Courtney asked Jen and her daughter Coco, 17 (from her first marriage to actor David Arquette) to be joint maid of honour, and she can’t wait to finally become Mrs McDaid and make things official.”

When the couple celebrated their eight-year anniversary last week, Courtney paid tribute to her boyfriend by sharing two contrasting snaps of the pair.

Representatives for Courtney and Johnny have been contacted by The Mirror for comment about the marriage claims.

In December, Courtney finally reunited with her fiancé after nine months apart.

The actress shared a video message alongside Johnny, in which they paid thanks to frontline workers in Derry, Ireland, where Johnny had been living.

The couple had been conducting a long distance relationship but in the video, it would seem that Courteney has crossed the Atlantic to be with Johnny, as the UK countryside provided a backdrop.

In the clip, Courteney said: “We just want to thank all the people at Ráth Mór in Creggan for all the incredible work you have done this year.”

Johnny adds: “Well done guys, thank you so much for all the work, it’s so appreciated. And I know it’s been a really tough year, but here’s to a great 2021 ahead.”

The video was posted on December 11 on social media as part of a community initiative in that area.

Johnny had returned to the UK in March, the day before the first lockdown began, and they hadn’t been together since.

Courteney had spoken about their forced separation with Foy Vance on his ‘Vinyl Supper’ podcast and video series.

She said at the time, in October, that she had been apart from Johnny for 200 days.

The actress said: “At first I was like, wow what do I do with myself? I cook every day, I’ve learned to cook so much more, I’ve perfected it…”
