ASUP Federal Polytechnic Oko Chapter in their meeting held today being the 8th of June, 2021 voted to discontinue the strike which has lasted for more than 2 months and has equally halted the Academic Activities of Federal Polytechnics across Nigeria.
In respect to the Meeting held today by ASUP FPO chapter, 92 members voted to suspend the strike while 13 members voted for the strike to continue since the Federal Government is yet to meet their collective demands.
Findings gathered by Donnie Saico Media shows that many Polytechnics across Nigeria that is part of the strike have heard the pleas of the students to continue their education which made them to vote to suspend the strike after been directed by the national body of the Union to hold a Congress to decide on the way to go concerning the lingering strike. Reports also has it that the Strike may continue in Three Months time if the Federal Government didn’t respond to their request.
The outgoing SUG Federal Polytechnic Oko 2020 led by Giant Comr Rtr Asiegbu Kingsley Chinonso enjoined all students to be patient and await for the resumption date which will be announced soon.
