5-year-old boy abandon in school by his dad after discovering he’s not his biological father

A five-year-old boy was reportedly abandoned at his preschool after his father found out the child was not his.

The boy, identified in local media by the pseudonym ‘Xiao Rui’, was enrolled in kindergarten in southern China in April and his father would pick him up every single day, the South China Morning Post reported.

However, when his father dropped him off last week in the morning, the child was essentially abandoned.

At the end of the school day, staff tried contacting Xiao’s parents and other family members, however, none of them wanted him back.

A teacher at the school contacted Xiao’s father who said he had recently done a paternity test and discovered the boy was not his.

The father said he would not come to collect the boy and that he was the school’s problem.

The father had also packed a change of clothes and a mobile phone into Xiao’s bag, the South China Morning Post reported.

The teacher even went to the boy’s house to find it completely empty and the whereabouts of the boy’s mother are not known.

Other members of Xiao’s family were contacted after the local police were involved and none of them wanted to take in the five-year-old boy.

However, the South China Morning Post did report that a local radio and television station had reported Xiao’s mother will be picking him up this week.

A lawyer spoke to the Jiangxi Morning Daily and said under Chinese law, if a woman refuses to raise her biological son, she could face jail time.
